This page explains how to delete your AssamStudyAI account, what happens when you do, and what data is deleted or retained. It applies to the AssamStudyAI app and website at assamstudyai.com.
1. How to Delete Your Account
Account deletion is self-service and happens directly inside the app, in one place:
The in-app flow will show you exactly what will be removed, ask you for a reason, show a summary of your account (coins, plan, badges, study time), and require you to type DELETE to confirm. This is a genuine safeguard against accidental deletion, not a formality — nothing is deleted until you complete every step.
You can also reach this same flow from the menu (☰) in the app under Danger Zone → Delete Account.
2. If You Can't Sign In
If you're unable to access your account — a lost password, a lost Google sign-in, or any other reason — email us at admin@assamstudyai.com from the email address associated with your account (or with whatever proof of ownership you have) and request account deletion. We will verify you're the account owner and delete the account on your behalf.
3. What Happens When You Delete Your Account
Deletion is immediate and permanent. Once you confirm, your account is signed out and cannot be recovered or reactivated. Deleting your account removes the records stored under your account:
- Your profile, login credentials, and account details;
- Coins, coin history, coin redemptions, avatar, badges, level, and streaks;
- Study progress, chapter tracking, and study activity history;
- Saved chat memory and your daily AI token-usage counters;
- Your notifications, push-notification registrations, and notification preferences;
- Your referral records, feedback suggestions, and current RankWar ranking;
- Your Pro access in AssamStudyAI and the subscription record we hold for it. This does not cancel a Google Play subscription (see above), and we do not issue a refund for remaining subscription time.
Some records are retained, or are not removed by the in-app deletion — see the next section for exactly which ones.
4. What Data Is Retained, and For How Long
Deletion record — kept for 90 days
Before your account is removed, the system archives an internal deletion record. It is used only for internal reporting (for example, understanding why users leave), to handle support queries about a since-deleted account, and for fraud and abuse prevention. It is not visible to any user and is only accessible to AssamStudyAI administrators. It contains:
- Your name, email address, district, school, class, referral code, and the date your account was created and deleted;
- The reason you gave for leaving (and any text you typed with it);
- Your coins, level, avatar, badges, streak, rank snapshot, and study time for the day of deletion;
- Your subscription status, plan, and subscription end date;
- A snapshot of your AI token-usage counts (numbers only, not the content of your requests);
- Your recent sign-in history (up to your 50 most recent sessions: IP address, browser/device information, and time) and a list of the browsers/devices you used and when each was last seen.
We keep this record for 90 days after you delete your account. A scheduled job then deletes it automatically. It does not include your chat messages or the content of your study materials.
Records kept without a link to your profile
Payment records: records of payments and Google Play purchases (plan, amount, date, and the payment or purchase reference) are kept for as long as needed for legal, tax, accounting, dispute-handling, and fraud-prevention purposes. When your account is deleted, the link between these records and your account is removed. They are not covered by the 90-day period.
Records that remain after deletion
The following records are not deleted when you delete your account. They do not include your name, email address, or contact details, and they are identified only by an internal random account ID:
- AI usage records (per-request model, feature type, and token counts — no request content), kept for usage and cost statistics;
- The shared study-material cache: study content generated for all students, which carries the internal ID of the last account that saved it;
- Past leaderboard archive entries (rank, district, and coins). The name shown on an entry is removed automatically by a scheduled daily job after the account is deleted;
- An internal pre-launch RankWar backup (coins, level, badges, and avatars).
